Visit Pasos de Amor Children’s Home

This is a small, privately operated home, located in Sonoyta, Sonora, that serves children whose parents are not able to care for them. Volunteers can visit with the children to do organized, fun activities such as arts, crafts, music, sports, etc.

Because this home gets no funding from the government they are always in need of basic supplies such as non-perishable food items, toilet paper and paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry soap, etc.

Join our Homework Club

The Homework Club provides academic support to children who lack the support of an educated adult at home for completing their homework. Spanish speaking volunteers can help tutor the kids in their homework. English speakers can work on English Language with the students. In the near future we will adding ‘Saturday Clubs’ that will allow weekend volunteer opportunities.

Lead a Home Improvement Project

A number of students in our programs live in homes that are not safe. They are made from pallets or plywood and some have no functioning bathroom and/or kitchen and many do not have adequate roofs. We are looking for groups that can ‘adopt’ one of these families and help provide an improved and safer living situation.

Each group would work with our construction coordinator to identify supplies and funds needed for their project. Typically funds required per project are under $1,000 USD and funds can be raised through our Steps of Love Facebook Page or website. Once the funds are available, a weekend visit is scheduled for the group to come and work with our construction coordinator to complete the improvements.
